In the early 2000’s, as the volume of traffic increased on Ireland’s road network, it became apparent that maintenance work in such environments was becoming increasingly hazardous. To meet these safety issues, the CHM Group set up an internal Traffic Management division so that we could carry out our own work safely. This involved purchasing specialist Traffic Management vehicles and training our staff to the only available standard which, at that time, was delivered in the UK. Our local authority clients noticed our proactive approach to the needs of traffic management and they started to request these services from us to allow their work to be carried out safely on motorways.
Over the last ten years, the legislation, industry codes and training requirements governing the traffic management industry have increased dramatically. In this environment the CHM Group have been able to assist contractors and county council’s in meeting these ever-changing demands by providing a specialist sub contractor service. Our traffic management division has developed to be the number one provider in Ireland and has facilitated the construction of some of Ireland’s largest transport and infrastructure projects including Terminal 2 at Dublin airport, M50 and IFSC LUAS projects.CHM Group have been at the cutting edge of the traffic management industry as it has evolved over the past decade. This expertise has been recognised and requested to the extent that we have recently set up individual divisions, which specialise in traffic management training, design and consultation for local authorities and contractors. As the industry that we work in changes, you can expect that the CHM Group will adapt and grow to meet the needs of our customers
