A system used on a public roadway will usually face high speed impacts at sharp glancing angels and depending on the available space for deflection, several systems are available to deal with most scenarios.
Barriers in a car park or in an industrial situation are likely to encounter low speed impacts at square angels and therefore require a more rigid structure as deflection of the beam is undesirable.
